Notice is hereby given that the City of Madera will hold a series of community forums introducing citizens to the district election process in anticipation of the November 2010 election where the question of changing how members of the Madera City Council are elected to office will be placed on the ballot.
At the forum, citizens will have the opportunity to provide input on “communities of interest” and receive information on the use of Public Participation Kits. Public Participation Kits are a tool used to allow citizens to draw suggested district boundaries.
Questions regarding the scheduled forums may be directed to Sonia Alvarez, City Clerk at (559) 661-5405, salvarez@cityofmadera.com or by contacting the City’s consultant Doug Johnson of National Demographics Corporation at (310) 200-2058, info@NDCresearch.com.
