Madera Redevelopment Agency


Established in 1990, the Madera Redevelopment Project Area encompasses 4,207.7 acres. Since inception, assessed valuation has increased from $248,082,078.00 to $557,533,230.00. This represents an increase of 125%.

Our Goals


  • Expansion and diversification of the community's economic and employment base through the facilitation of more year-round employment opportunities, including industrial development and expansion;
  • Improvement and revitalization of the community's service commercial and industrial areas;
  • Recapture of general retail sales leakage from the City of Madera to other trade centers;
  • Improvement of traffic circulation throughout the Project Area, including better access to developable properties;
  • Improvement of infrastructure supporting the Project Area, including street pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk, sewer, water, and storm drainage;
  • Enhancement of community facilities available to residents of the Project Area and supportive of the local population at large; and
  • Elimination or mitigation of other existing blighting conditions and influences, including incompatible land uses, obsolete or substandard structures, inadequate public facilities, and/or small, irregular, or landlocked parcels.

AB 987


Pursuant to AB 987, redevelopment agencies are required to compile and maintain a database of existing, new, and substantially rehabilitated housing units assisted with moneys from the Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund, or used to satisfy the agency’s replacement housing or production obligations. The database must be updated annually and made available to the public on the Internet. Six housing programs are detailed on the attached databases. Please be aware this is not a listing of current available housing. 


EOPS


Pursuant to AB 1X 26, at a special meeting of the Madera Redevelopment Agency held on August 17, 2011, the Agency Board adopted the Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule (EOPS) by Resolution No. MRA-1490. A copy of the payment schedule can be viewed on the link below.

At the January 11, 2012 meeting of the Madera Redevelopment Agency, the Agency Board adopted an updated Enforceable Obligation Payment Schedule (EOPS) by Resolution No. MRA-1496 to cover the period beginning January 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012.
